The Cotswolds - The beautiful village of Coln St. Al

The village we stayed in is Coln St. Aldwyns. The village isn't very large. There were basically two intersecting roads with a couple dead-end off shoots. But it was great that there was a Village Shop and a pub.

It's a very beautiful village, just like the majority of all the villages in the Cotswolds. There is a wonderful visual harmony in the Cotswolds because all the villages are made of Cotswolds stone, warm beige colored stones. We passed one of the quarries on one of our days wandering about just following village signs to see one pretty village after another.

Lots of other villages close by
Events around the village are posted on the board on the side of the Village Shop
These red leaves were gorgeous. We looked at them closely and they were grape vines

The New Inn was just four doors up from our cottage. We had dinner there two nights. Very fancy menu for a village pub. Check it out at https://www.thenewinncoln.co.uk/

This house had a red Royal Mail Post Box for some unknown reason.

This was an entry to a Public Footpath at the end of a dead-end road. Marta and I walked down it.
Outside the village was this gate house next to these beautiful gates. This generally means there is a big house of the local gentry or maybe a local Lord. I couldn't see a house, but looking on Google maps satellite view there is definitely one there.

Thought this was a fun sign that was on the side of someone's house.
