23 September The Exterior of my Cat Sit Home in Dorset

I'm staying in a wonderful thatched roof cottage in Dorset right now. It was built in 1802 and is a combination of two cottages, a barn and a row of outbuildings.

The house looks like it opens right onto the road, and it must have at some point in time. But the two  front doors of the original two cottages aren't even doors on the inside of the building. The front entry is around the other side of the house in a courtyard.

I don't know what the GC stands for for the 1802 is an impressive building date

Ashmore  village is very small and completely residential. There are no retail businesses, no village store, post office or pub. The Dairy Stand is a way for the villagers to be able to get some supplies and to work together in collecting for work on the village church.

The front of the house

An antique piece of farm machinery looks wonderful at the front of the house. It was used to separate wheat and chaff

Looking out the front door there is a row of out buildings and the gate of the courtyard.
