Went to a country fair which was quite fun. There were competitions for heavy horses and dogs, and lots of booths selling things and food.
The heavy horses were really gorgeous. They looked like Clydesdales to me, with there white feet, but I think they were more Shire horses. It was rather like watching a dog show. They were are beautified with braided manes and tails and brushed to a high sheen.
Like in a dog show, the horses were walked up the field and back and then run with their handlers running along with them. I have no idea how they were judged. They all looked great to me.
There were a lot of people at the fair, and the vast majority came with a dog! There were hundreds of dog and amazingly, no fights or problems. I told my friends it was interesting to see almost no frou-frou dogs. It was mainly labradors, spaniels, hounds etc... The smallest dogs were like cocker spaniels. I saw two little Yorkies, but that was about it for small dogs.
