I'm still here in Bicknacre, Essex until 31 August but I wanted to check out my next cat sitting place in Dorset while the home owners are still at home.
They were going to be departing the day I got there, but their 31 August flight was cancelled and when they found new flights, it ended up that they will be departing on 26 August. So I wanted to be sure and see them and the house before they left.
It was a 2 1/2 hour drive from Essex to Dorset but the SatNav did a good job. I ended up taking the southern route because Google maps said it was nearly an hour shorter than the northern route because of traffic. But, it meant I went over the Dartford Crossing which has a toll that I had to pay online.
The only real traffic slowdown is when the A303 goes right by Stonehenge.
My next cat sit is in Ashmore, Dorset and it looks like a fairy tale village.
This is the house where I'll be staying and some views of the village!
And the interior of the house!
I'm really looking forward to exploring the village and Dorset https://www.visit-dorset.com/ for five weeks. The village is totally residential with no businesses at all, but Salisbury https://www.visitwiltshire.co.uk/salisbury and Shaftsbury https://www.dorsets.co.uk/shaftesbury are not too far away. I'll also be able to easily go to Longleat, an amazing stately home https://www.longleat.co.uk/, and Bath https://visitbath.co.uk/
Life is good
